Hello! I just purchased my first DSLR, Pentax k10D. I am very excited! I didn't get the kits lens because I wasn't sure if I would need it. The guy at Ritz sold me a Quantaray 28-90 1:3.5-5.6. The Pentax Q Limited Silver continues the company's long-standing tradition of releasing silver-bodied cameras that offer a retro aesthetic. With the Pentax Q, the limited edition should prove handsome indeed, given that all of the available lenses have silver bodies. (With the company's SLRs, only a relatively limited lens selection is available in silver, with most lenses offered only in black, and don't pair quite as nicely with the limited-edition version bodies.)

Knowing that I could use all my old lenses with a new Pentax, I was very fortunate to find a 6 year old Pentax *ist DS for sale at a very good price. It only makes a 6 megapixel photo, but for the type of photography I do: blogging on the internet and on facebook for family and friends, it's perfect. If I break it or drop it I won't cry for weeks over it.

It's a 1969 Honeywell Pentax Spotmatic that my dad purchased at a duty-free zone in Colon Panama. The Honeywell Pentax Spotmatic was introduced to the public at the 1960 World's Fair, and it was made available for purchase in 1964. I was browsing Amazon for instax cameras and holgas, when I remembered my little Spotmatic. He just said I could have it. This is the camera he used on his LDS mission, and he took lots of our treasured family photos with this baby. I had all but forgotten about it, until I got a little camera hungry this summer. When I was about 13 or 14, my dad gave me his camera. It seemed too precious to cart around, and digital cameras were becoming the norm. I've always loved this camera....
