Combining the latest in technology with a retro-cool look and feel from 45 years ago, the Fujifilm FinePix X100 is perhaps the most highly anticipated camera of the year.
Although at first glance while it can be confused with a classic rangefinder camera (intentionally, of course), the Fuji X100 is not a rangefinder. Sharing the solid construction and major controls of film cameras mostly long gone, this is a professional grade compact digital camera with a fixed focal length (35mm f/2 equivalent) lens and the world’s first Hybrid optical and electronic viewfinder.

Panoramic heaven with the TX-1 | Japan Camera Hunter
Here you go, something that you don’t get to see everyday. The quirky and interesting Fujifilm TX-1 panoramic film camera. This camera is a bit different from your regular 35mm film camera, in that you can switch it to panoramic mode, which automatically widens the shutter plane (pretty cool to look at). When you do this you will get approximately 21 shots from a 36 exposure film.
The TX-1 was built in conjunction with Hassleblad and branded as the X-Pan in Europe and America. Basically it was the same camera, although the X-Pan had a black finish. This was an unusual team up for Hasselblad who were more used to working with Zeiss. But it was a secret match made in heaven, they managed to make a robust and solid camera that keeps on going in no small part thanks to the solid Fuji engineering. The TX-1 sports a tough Titanium body and feels weighty in the hand. The functions are simple and easy to find, and the camera sits comfortably in the hand.

Zesto to open restaurant at Crossroads Village Center
Zesto Pizza & Grill, a Philadelphia-based restaurant chain, will open a 4,900-square-foot restaurant — its first in the Baltimore region — at the Crossroads Village Center. The company signed a lease with St. John Properties, the Baltimore real estate development firm that is developing substantial portions of the office and retail components of Baltimore Crossroads@95, a 1,000-acre, mixed-use business community on Route 43 near Interstate 95 in White Marsh. The restaurant anticipates opening in the second quarter of 2012, serving lunch and dinner seven days a week, as well as offering off-site catering services, take-out and delivery options. You have to plug the mic and earphone into the head unit to use them and there are wires between the rider and the head unit. A new device has launched for the cyclist called the HIOD One that uses Bluetooth and can connect up to five cyclists in a group. I hate wires and I would imagine most riders would be moving around a lot making the wires an issue. There are a bunch of Bluetooth devices for motorcyclists, but not so much for the bicyclist that needs to communicate with a group that might be spread over a distance. The head unit mounts to the handlebars of the bike and has an OLED screen with lots of contrast for viewing in different conditions, which is good. The system uses voice units that clip to wrist, chest, or helmets. You can talk to one rider at a time over distances of up to 1,300 feet away with an intercom feature. The device will also allow for handsfree phone calls and users can listen to music....

Fujifilm Corporation launched its skincare products under the Astalift brand in Japan five years ago to expand into the healthcare business. Japanese colour film maker Fuji is considering marketing skincare products in the Thai market. Fuji has four segments in Thailand: photo imaging, graphic arts, medical systems (x-ray film and computer radiography) and electronic imaging products (digital camera). "The cosmetics market here is one of the largest in Southeast Asia," he said. Nozomu Hashimoto, the newly appointed managing director of Fuji Photofilm (Thailand) Ltd, said it is deciding whether to sell Astalift products by itself or through local distributors. It will also consider establishing a new business division or subsidiary to handle Astalift sales and marketing.
